Saturday, December 31, 2011

Hello, :)

Happy 2012!

Have you ever wanted to write your own crime/thriller/mystery RP?

I'm looking for a small group of people to help me create a new PBEM RPG

specifics that I will need help in defining. However, here's a few to get
us started:

- set in a fictional city
- light influences from cyberpunk / blade runner feel with dystopian
1940s/50s influences
- collaborative project - everyone will be pitching in to build this world
- crime fiction tends to play out slowly in RP, so the pace will be
slow/medium depending on number of writers, something perfectly suited to
PBEM

*Roles that need writers:*
*
*
*Original Canon:*
- lead detective 1
- lead detective 2
- apprentice 1
- competitor detective 1
- competitor detective 2
- apprentice 2

- secretary 2
- administrative assistant
- journalist 1
- journalist 2
- photographer
- police sergeant
- police officer
- source 1 (permanent)
- source 2 (permanent)

*Per Case Basis:*
- Client 1 + NPCs
- Client 2 + NPCs
- Client 3 + NPCs
- Client 4 + NPCs etc.

Regards,
Moiyra

[BTSS] Games

Got 2 games in over the weekend so far. First was Chaos noise marines, second was Tau, both 1850pts. Chaos was capture control pitched battle, was able to hold of the Deamon and win the game. Tau game was Annihilation and spearhead, ended on turn 5 and was a draw. For as bad as the WD codex is I still have a pretty good record with them. Faith still for the most part makes no different in the games, really needs to fix the whole faith thing.

RE: [BTSS] getting out of the game

If you want, we could simply split the lot, if the current owner would be interested. You get first crack at the infantry, and I'll get the same for the vehicles, but only if the current owner is interested in doing so.

I agree its a bloody shame he's looking at bailing out, and the way things are going this may be the only economical means of expanding our forces. GW prices are just insane now.

same, well minus vehicles, but sisters are always useful. sorry you feel this way about the army, but sometimes it happens.

Depending on numbers and moneys, I'd be interested. I could use the vehicles.

i am thinking of getting out of the game, would anyone be interested in picking up a fairly useless sisters army, will get exact numbers if interested but i have a couple immolaters, a couple kitbashed exorcists 30 or 40 sisters, some seraphims, witchhunter inquisitor, and some other stuff, if interested hit me up for details and we can haggle

oh yea i am in louisiana as far as shipping or whatever goes

Its buried on the site there somewhere. Upon closer examination, yeah three of the options aren't available anymore (of course, we just keep losing capabilities, but there you go), however the rest would still work.

Where did you find the updated rules for the Repressor? When I go to the Forge World website and click the link for the updated rules it still shows the Repressor with wargear options that we lost with the White Dwarf Codex. Thanks

Your option two sounds very cool, but man you'd need either alot of OOP Necromunda minis, or maybe just convert some Bretonnian peasants and give them lasguns, shotguns, etc. As for your light assault vehicle, somebody did an article for Cityfight that was a cut down Chimera which he used to create light tanks and used Sentinels as the rules.

We make them OP (over powered) or ROP (really over powered). The best way I can see to make this happen would be to allow Domions as troop units, this would give 6 MSU with transports and preacher to scout about the table in teams popping vehicles and flaming troops. Any other thoughts on how to make SOB over the top WIN WIN?

[WABlist] Re: Will there be WAB at Strategicon?

Friday, December 30, 2011

I am pretty much counting on being there. Looking over the various greek pike lists, 2800 points seems to be a good number to match 2000 from the old lists. So a bit more, some a bit less...

For first time use ina tournament and given that none of us on the left coast have recieved AofA, it might be a safe compromise to allow either AofA at 2800 or exising supplments at 2000, recognizing thatr this will be an imperfect compromsie that we have to see how it works.

Supplement points were frequently adjusted for in-period play, so don't work so consistently across the entire spectrum of history--which was what many complained about. The British tournament organizers went to the "ABC" rating system to adjust overall army points with the supplement lists where they perceived inequalities, but now apparently are content with planning to use the AoA2 lists as published. The AoA2 point structure seems to be a new thing, and very much its own thing: distinct and separate from the period supplements.

> > Hope you guys have fun, but I'd suggest making the decision early and sticking to it. AoA2 was designed for the tournamenteers, so it does seem kinda logical to switch to it for an open event. The limiting factor will be the number of people willing to order it from Forge World between now and then.

The event will be at the Sheraton Gateway Los Angles Hotel, 6101 West Century Boulevard, Los Angeles Ca 90045.

I'll be giving it a good look over once I get my hands on it, and I'll be following the public discussion; so I'll try to make an informed decision by the end of January. If you are thinking of coming and have strong opinions either way please feel free to share them with me via private email. If there is a workable conversion factor that would allow the legacy supplements and the new AoA to coexist I'll consider that. The intent of this tournament is to be inclusive as possible but it seems to be the whole point of the new AoA book is tailor made for an open tournament like this.
> > >

The single supplement tournaments are very casual with a slant toward beginners with team games and smaller forces. But the February tournament is intended to be a bit more competitive, and although less experienced players are welcome it's not for somebody who's never played before. That being said I will have a few loaner armies available if you don't have anything painted. I do try to match up similar period armies but there will inevitably be some non historical battles.
> > >

> > > Thanks everybody and I hope for another good turnout in February. By the way, any feedback on which legacy supplement to use for the May convention would also be appreciated; I'm leaning towards Chariot Wars. We had an Age of Arthur event and a Shieldwall event in 2011 so I'd like to get out of the Dark ages. I know that there are less biblical armies out there in peoples cabinets but I have quite a few that can be used as loaners.
