Well I can certainly welcome quick response here on WABlist, is the
first communication in a very long time. I don't like to take such a
dour tone, but actions speak louder than words, or bellyaching.... so if
they turn things around I will tone down the rancor.
So thanks Rick for chiming in.
One of the problems with WAB IMO is that the WABlist is a barometer of
interest in my peer group. There has been no interest in games here, in
weeks, except for a smattering of rules questions. Part of that is
because I've had no time to even write up the few games I've had a few
weeks ago, but if I am the only person writing up their experiences with
WAB2 here, then it is hardly a discussion.
I did point out that there were a number of issues with the army lists
in WAB2's selection choices... those issues apparently are going to be
fixed by Martin (such as mixed weapons for barbarian skirmishers- you
can do the math there). Some of the other issues I've had in WAB2 is
due to the changes in Stubborn. If two forces are high in stubborn now,
things can be very locked together. In a game between two EIR forces we
had few if any units ever burn stubborn, they just rocked back and forth
in momentum until a panic re-roll was missed. This actually made for a
weird game in which only luck was a factor- it came down to the first
side to miss two 9's in a row, and then have the stubborn troops panic
due to break tests was the deciding factor.
JJ
Pretty sad since it has a pretty loyal following especially by Historic
game
standards.
