I have just recently taken an interest in ancients miniatures. I pucked up nearly a dozen boxes of the Wargames Factory Romans last year when they ran their 9/9/9 deal.
I had thought to use them for making a WHFB army for something, but didn't get around to it. Then I lost alot of interest in WHFB when my local group focused totally on 40K. Then with the release of 8th no one was interested in picking it up.
Earlier in the summer a friend was clearing out his hobby room and sent me a copy of the original WAB book (I guess it is refered to as 1.0).
I have been reading through it and realised that it was based off one of the WHFB editions that got me into miniatures in the first place, which was really cool.
So this inspired me to do something with my Romans. Now mind you I am not much into factual historics, I am a "Hollywood Historic" kinda guy. So I don't worry about 100% accurate figures. I am more interested in playing a fun game then modelling history.
But that was how I felt about WWII gaming too when I first started playing Blitzkrieg Commander, but that grew into real intrest in the whole time period, so maybe my interest in ancients will deepen too as time goes by.
Anyways here is a few pics of my WIP Romans:
