Two observations:

These "foreign" loans were made through the Term Auction Facility (created in 2008).

1. When I clicked the link to the article the first time, the term TAF was highlighted and had a link to further information. Ten minutes later, when I re-clicked the link to the article, the term TAF was no longer highlighted.

Did the Yahoo editors discover they were giving away too much info?

2. The title for this operation, Term Auction Facility, couldn't be more obstruse in indicating what it really does.

Wouldn't ----- RATPAC ---- be a better a better name ---- ie.

Robbing American Taxpayers --- Paying All Comers
