Life might have been normal once. Whether a family house, a tiny apartment, a college dorm or the wild brush outside city limits, it was a life like any other. But circumstances have changed. Perhaps there's a reason, scientific, supernatural or otherwise, perhaps not; perhaps there's a cause, but no one knows it that can be asked about it. Whatever it might be, life will never be the same anymore, no matter how much you want it to.
And how badly you want it, well…
But, there are rumors. There's word passed through others like you, or those who know of them. Those who might have had a brother, a sister, a mother or father, daughters and sons who have walked the path you've been thrown upon. Not a place of secrecy where life revolves around these "powers" you didn't really want to begin with. Not a government laboratory where the best you can hope for is sedation while they pick you apart.
No, this isn't one of those places. There's no barbed wired fences to keep the world out, or those like you in. This is a town, that's all, a place where most everyone is just the same: more unique than unique, more unusual than usual. But this is also a place where no one needs to rely on that strangeness to make a home. This is a town where the strange can come, and be simply… you.
