The first mission finds the stout crew of the USS Paladin put against the odds. With only half the crew aboard, Captain Marin is ordered to investigate a distress beacon and is informed that the ship in question was carrying a new prototype weapon's system that would be a devastating loss if it fell into enemy hands. Little did he know what lay in store for him and his crew.
