Please let me know if you plan to do something like this in Cold Wars next year after I've returned. (Certainly not cold around here...)

Sorry, Phil. If everything goes well, I'll think about running this once or twice yearly, maybe alternating with the WECW tournaments. It'll be a learning experience for me and some of us. I'm thinking about running smaller armies that Mike recommends in his book. That way we can field more players initially. On the other hand, the armies may be a little on the brittle side (don't stand in front of the enemy HMG!). Either way you should have sufficient troops to play. The details are still a long ways off.

BTW, how are your Swedes coming along? I haven't decided yet what to do with a Swedish army. It may cut through the ECW armies like a hot knife through butter. So, at the worst case scenario, they may have to proxy for a Parliament or Royalist army.

Good try, but it doesn't let you off the hook. Regardless of the players paint jobs and figures, we will just start with an early list. You will be fine, even though some of the match ups may look a little anachronistic. I have early French, but they will be proxied as late French if the need arises. Don, its only WW1, not something important like the ACW! ;^)

The point is to get bodies that want to try playing this on a semi-regular basis. I'm thinking about 2 games per tournament as with the WECW.

I must say that there is some good response so far. I think I have 8 players already confirming their intentions. I gotta start painting!
