Thanks for the suggestions.  Valkyrie Chronicles has been popping up a lot.  Must be quite the game.  Found Mass Effect way too hard. I played Star Ocean on the Xbox, but only got partway through before the damn xbox died.  Been thinking of getting it for the ps3 just hate the thought of starting all over again.

I forgot to add in 3 rpgs that are worth a mention.
 
Valkyrie Chronicles, a strategy rpg game. You'll have problems finding this game because I doubt many rpg collector will give this PS3 game up for a low price. This is probably one of the best story and characters in an rpg game in a long time. Probably the top rpg game for PS3.
 
Star Ocean Last Hope International and Eternal Sonata are both games that are pretty big and epic like Final Fantasy XIII. Star Ocean Last Hope is from SquareEnix too and it's pretty much almost identical to Final Fantasy in terms of production value.
