Here are the WAB Tournament Results for Fall-In 2011.
Friday Evening Doubles was cancelled for lack of participation.
Saturday Singles was limited to four players. Because of the impending snowfall which was expected to be 6-10 inches we limited the tourney to 2 games. After the first round of Pitched Battle combats all of the players were tied at 8 points each. As a result, each of the combatants was still in the hunt for the hallowed Holy Grail of Fall-In and recognition by an adoring world-wide commuity of WAB 2.0ers. After much complaining about the final scenario (Delayed Reserves...won't use that one again) the outcomes were decided. Awards went as follows:
Best General - John Eiche - Normans
Best Painted Army - Steve Spaara - War of the Roses
Best Sportsman - Adam Hughes - Thracians (w/o Rhompaia)
Forlorn Hope - Chris Boroucki - Berbers
Thanks to Monsieur le Capitaine Ralph Krebs for hosting and double thanks to Chris for hopping in and evening out the numbers.
John Bianchi - I have the $20 in collections, all of the remaining prizes, Fall-In Doubles trophies, and all of the terrain save for 3 mats that Adam has. I just realized I may not be able to make Cold Wars 2012. We will need to play that by ear. I can drop these with someone local that is going up if necessary.
On another note - we really need to make some major changes in our planning, organization, and execution to ensure we are able to continue in a fashion that is interesting, attractive, and worthwhile to the broader community. I have some thoughts and will share them when I get them together.
Thanks to all who participated...and on another note...WHH Great War was a big hit and actually quite fun to play. The Cold Wars Great War Tournament next year should be loads of fun.
Cheers. pb
