[RPG_Player_Sanctuary] The X-Men were the embodiment of a dream...

“The X-Men were the embodiment of a dream and we few are what remains. It was special to be an X-Man, and sometimes it could be glorious. Think a moment of where we’ve been and what we’ve done, of the differences we’ve tried to make. Wrapped in the urgent necessities, the never-ending crisis of those madcap days, it was natural to expect that we’d always be X-Men. It was how defined ourselves--it was the reason, the very foundation of our being, as individuals and as a family… For humanity to truly evolve, and claim the bright and shinning future that Charles Xavier held out as the birthright for us all, we had to lose our safety net, the X-Men had to end.” --Katherine Pryde, U.S. President

It has been fifteen years since the death of Charles Xavier. The X-Men are no more, the team was dismantled, leaving mutant affairs in the hands of X-Corp. The Xavier Institute has been rebuilt over the ruins of the previous school after having been destroyed by Warskulls in a ploy by Cassandra Nova to gain the powers of Phoenix. And once more, it has become a school, nothing more, nothing less. The current headmasters are Dr. Hank McCoy and Emma Frost. A lot has changed for mutant kind. While there is still prejudice, society as a whole has generally accepted them. The United States has even elected their first mutant president, Katherine Pryde.

But the struggle is not over, not ever.

With every new generations, there are always those groups of individuals who are not happy with peace and tranquility. While X-Corp generally hands these individuals, an old foe of the original X-Men has been born anew, targeting the X-Men legacies. The children of the X-Men must unite against this old foe if they want to protect the peace between mutants and humanity. The X-Corp and X-Men have their work cut out for them, to say the least.

----------------------

This is an AU X-Men RPG set fifteen years after Xavier and many X-Men died in “X-Men: The End.” The X-Men have married and had children, in some cases their children have even had children. In this universe, events like M-Day and Secret Invasion have never happened. Genosha still stands and the Xavier Institute has a satellite school there. Members are expected to post at least three times a week. Each post should be multiple paragraphs in length with minimal grammatical and spelling errors.
.:Rules:.

Characters: This RPG is set in the future and apart from the current continuum of Marvel 616. Most of the characters are much, much, much older, retired, and/or dead. Obviously there are exceptions, like immortals and regenerative characters. There are some cannon characters like GeNext characters, however, since that very limited little series was focused on the characters as teens and those characters would now be twenty-somethings, you still have a lot of wiggle room with how you play them. NO RESERVING CHARACTERS.

Other than those named children of the X-Men, you can create a character who’s children of mixed and matched X-Men within reason, maybe a child of Hellion and X-23 or Warpath and Hepzibah. Now don’t go too crazy and have something like child parented by Nightcrawler and Pixie or something, that might be pretty creepy and highly unlikely.

Also, do not feel inclined to leave out other hero/villain teams! Victor von Doom, for example, has a daughter named Sophie von Doom! Don't forget Spider-Girl. And Rico is the son of Franklin Richards.

You can also have a totally original character, not remotely related to any of the X or other hero/villain community. People writing original characters, I simply ask that you make your character as complex and unique as possible.
