I am looking for players for a Champions Play by Post set in (a version of) Gotham City. Read the introduction, and contact me if you are interested in joining.

INTRODUCTION:

The screen fades in on the Channel 14 Action Witness News logo. The deep voice of the announcer comes from the speakers, "Channel 14 Action Witness News, Gotham City's number one evening news, with anchors Kent Winkleman and Chang May Lin, local Emmy winning meteorologist Solomon Betts, and "Sticks" McGillicuddy with sports." The images of each of the above was presented, in time with their name. A mature, slightly gray haired, strong jawed white man; a delicately featured Asian woman with perfectly coiffed hair; a powerfully built, athletic black man; and a chubby, jolly looking white man with a buzz cut.

The camera focuses in on the anchor desk. An insert appears in the top right of the screen, showing the Batsymbol, defaced with a question mark.

"Good evening, Gotham, I'm Kent Winkleman. Our top story tonight: Where is Batman? For over two months, there have been no Batman sightings, and major crimes are skyrocketing. Today's kidnapping of Peter Cardinal O'Hara from Holy Innocents Cathedral in broad daylight capped a week that has seen 25 murders, 157 armed robberies, dozens of rapes, burglaries and other crimes. Action Witness News reporter Elliot Wesserstein is live at City Hall. Elliot, what does the mayor have to say about the crime wave?"

"Kent, Mayor Hill has claimed that the so-called crime wave is a minor
statistical uptick, and that the citizens of Gotham have nothing to worry about. The mayor also issued a statement earlier this morning stating that the lack of Batman, or other costumed hero, sightings in the city is a positive sign, as vigilantism is not supported, nor condoned, by the government of Gotham City. A police spokesman has said that Commissioner Gordon will not be releasing any statements on the matter at this time, due to personal reasons. Until the Batman returns, this reporter feels that crime will continue to "uptick"...violently. Back to you, Kent."

"Thank you, Elliot, for your unwarranted editorial comments. May Lin?"

"Thanks, Kent. In other news, Billionaire philanthropist, businessman, and playboy Bruce Wayne remains in a coma for the eighth straight week. For those who don't remember, Wayne, his young ward Dick Grayson, and Barbara Gordon, the daughter of Gotham City's police commissioner, were involved in a helicopter crash two months ago. They remain in critical, but stable, condition at Wayne Memorial Hospital. Doctors are unsure if any of the three will pull through. While the police, national guard, and FAA have issued statements that, without a doubt, the accident was caused by metal fatigue in the helicopter blades, at least 20 claims of responsibility have been received by Action Witness news, including 5 from inmates of Arkham Asylum. Wayne Enterprises CEO Lucius Fox has offered a reward of ten million dollars for any information leading to the arrest and prosecution of those who may be responsible for what he terms "the attack on Bruce Wayne". As always, Action Witness news will bring you updates as they develop. After the break, Solomon Betts with weather for the morning rush."
