1. No javelin fire, cavalry is too close.
2. Only front rank can fire unless javelin unit is on a hill. In that case they can use massed fire and half of the other ranks can also shoot.

A 12 figure Greek Light Infantry unit is deployed as formed troops in a 2 rank formation.

Question #2: Can the Light Infantry throw Javelins asa formed unit, or does it havew to be in skirmish order to fire?

A 48 figure Persian Spara-Bara unit is composed as follows, 4 ranks deep with 24 Spear in the first two ranks and 24 bows in the last two ranks.

Question #3: How many Archers can fire 12 or 18?
