Horizon Fleet prides itself on our community atmosphere. We are a community as much as any social network that is out there. We have our own wiki page, forum, IRC chat room, movie nights, facebook page and of course our Star Trek sims that have stood the test of time. We also have a fleet magazine on the way. Horizon Fleet is a safe and stable simming environment. We have been around for more than three years and have seen other fleets come and go. We have sims set on outposts to the frontier with our starbases, majestic cruisers which can fulfill a variety of roles from diplomatic to military to exploration and science, escorts and destroyers which protect the Federation from threats. Whatever you are looking for in a Star Trek sim, you will find it in your new simming home, Horizon Fleet.
2011 is also bringing about our fleet story arc with the mysterious Yang Zutal, a race forced to leave their galaxy by a war gone out of control. We also have our community sim running which can be joined by anyone without posting requirements or applications. The sim is based on a war between the Klingons and Federation in the 23rd century.
We have newer sims ready to get their start and more established sims which want to weave you into their history. Amongst the sims getting ready to venture into the unknown is:
USS ALAMO is a unique Hastings Class Carrier that will be sent out to tame the chaos and lawlessness caused by the destruction of the Hobus star.
USS BRISINGR is a massive Excalibur Class Cruiser that despite its great size will put its power towards scientific and exploratory duties. The Brisingr is a brand new sim just getting its start.
USS CALIBURN is another Excalibur Class that is responding to a crisis on the Hope Colony. When the colony ceases communication, the new USS Caliburn is dispatched on her maiden voyage to discover what happened to the prosperous colony settled on Garvis IV.
USS ORLANDO is one of our Task Force Flagships whose crew is in shock after the Excelsior Class Cruiser was destroyed responding to a distress signal on the newly rebuilt Farpointe Station.
Horizon Fleet also has opportunities for those who are wanting to make their own path. If you would like the challenge of command please apply for our open commands. Keep in mind that you need not apply for a specific ship, but can tell us what class of ship you would like. Be sure to list an alternate.
We are also open to bringing existing sims and new ideas into our community. Horizon Fleet will offer you a safe, stable simming environment where we create standards for our sims and treat each other with respect. Our commanding officers have a vote on all important fleet matters. We don't have a top heavy Fleet Command making all the decisions for us.
